The Procurement Specialist – Channel Management is responsible strategic sourcing and procurement of building materials, other materials and services, in order to achieve tangible, validated cost saving and effective/efficient customer service whilst managing strict working capital constraints.Read More

To carry out Sourcing and Procurement activities to comply with legislation, group procurement guidelines, company policies, procedures and ethical guidelines
Communication to management to ensure buy-in to strategy and to update on implementation progress
To carry out regular market research and analysis on sources of materials and services to reduce supply risk and increase leverage on volumes
Coordinate with Transport and Logistics services, as well as the BU Sourcing Team to achieve functional synergies and reduce Total Cost of Ownership across the BU for acquired materials
Form functional partnerships with Customers to understand demand and forecasting for the materials and services in order to meet customer needs.
Manage source production, in-transit and inventory of materials and coordinate efficiently end-to-end supply chains for materials
Appreciate cost and quality implications of various alternative materials and there application and be able to guide both the suppliers and end customers
Understand overall Channel Management strategy and savings to proactively participate in driving initiatives in the areas of materials and services acquisition to ensure product to market and contribute to the bottom-line savings
Ensure that KPIs are integrated into daily work
Maintain sound ethical relationships with materials suppliers and develop new suppliers based on sound value proposition
Conduct on going supplier of materials and services review and transportation factors and initiate appropriate intervention to maintain flow of materials
To facilitate and achieve negotiated savings on materials and contribute to excellence savings reporting for the department
Ensure procurement of Materials aligns with Safety and Environmental standards

To draw and submit reports regularly and as required by management
Develop and Manage an efficient filling system
Carry out all lawful instructions vetted by the Line Manager
Ensure all employees and by extension the Contractor employees engaged in work on and off site work safely and all work areas conform to the companys Health and Safety requirements

Escalate issues, risks or opportunity for improvement to Management.
Special projects
Plan, conduct and/or manage special projects seeking cost saving initiatives, Safety improvements and Corporate Social Responsibility for the department.
Conduct market research and analysis of new suppliers, factories, and new countries for production of materials to ensure all sourcing needs are met. (All costing, social compliance, factory assessment, quality control and country of origin).
On Continuous Process Improvement
Encourage continuous process improvement to leverage economies, improve service to cost, and develop process excellence mindset.
Identify, communicate possible improvements to business processes and obtain management approval for implementation.

Required Skills

5 Years of Experience
Essential : Engineering or Business School Graduate<br> Professional Qualification: CIPS Level 6 <br> Minimum of: significant experience (5 years) in the Procurement and Sourcing roles in a similar environment. <br> Desirable : previous experience working in demanding environments such as Retail & FMCG industry preferable <br> Knowledge of ERP preferably Oracle/JDE
Key Skills
Able to work with minimum or no supervision
Good negotiation and selling skills
Working knowledge of PC and Word/Excel applications
Be a fast learner, have enthusiasm, initiative and desire to succeed, have Good public relations and communication skills
Be self motivated, dynamic and a self starter
Ability to write basic and technical reports and be able to present to management and customers.
