Responsibilities and Duties Include but are not Subject to:
Managing a fleet of 200 Trucks.
Direct activities related to dispatching, routing, and tracking transportation vehicles.
Plan, organize and manage the work of subordinate staff to ensure that the work is accomplished in a manner consistent with organizational requirements.
Direct investigations to verify and resolve customer or shipper complaints.
Serve as contact persons for all workers within assigned territories.
Implement schedule and policy changes.
Collaborate with other managers and staff members in order to formulate and implement policies, procedures, goals, and objectives.
Monitor operations to ensure that staff members comply with administrative policies and procedures, safety rules, union contracts, and government regulations.
Promote safe work activities by conducting safety audits, attending company safety meetings, and meeting with individual staff members.
Workshop Manager â€“ working in conjunction with the current workshop manager and will stand in as manager when the current manager is away
The role would be full workshop management overseeing 120 staff and working with the transport manager to make sure availability of equipment and lead times of getting equipment out of the workshops, overseeing a fully fledged breakdown team, 3 small workshops out in the field 50 km away, overseeing stock ordering with purchase department, writing reports when need be, dealing with suppliers and working on budgets with the accounts department.
Transport Manager â€“ working in conjunction with the current transport manager and will stand in when the current manager is away
Overseeing 200 drivers, immobilising equipment to various destinations, working with the workshop manager in organisation of equipment out of the workshops, working with the agricultural manager to make sure equipment is utilised and distributed to the right areas, being able to write reports, diesel control for 400 pieces of equipment, making sure there is continuous improvement on loading techniques, making sure there is improvement on deliveries, making sure there are enough tractors in various areas, control tracking centre on 400 pieces of equipment, working with weighbridge management, reporting on tonnages collected and delivered.
Agricultural Manager â€“ working in conjunction with the transport manager and workshop manager
Overseeing small scale out growers development, introducing a system using GPS to map various farmers fields, improving growth and supplying the right product variety to the different areas, controlling field technicians who will visit the farmers and organise the right harvesting times and methods, - please note we do not farm ourselves so this is mainly out grower scheme. Controlling right loading and harvesting techniques so as minimise wastage, introducing correct land prep techniques for various farmers in various areas, controlling farmers delivery payment systems and marketing so that we can expand the out growers numbers.
